CHRISTMAS IS IN A FEW DAYS
And I went shopping and saw this tiny Christmas hat and I immediately thought about my dog Rascal!
So I made it "wear-able" for him :)
Rascal!
Here's how to:
I chose to use elastic, just because. You could use ribbon if you like.
Cut the elastic in the width of approximately 0.5cm
Estimate them and sew to four sides/corners of the hat to get a loop (which is used to cling around your pet's ears). Sew both ends of the elastic to the hat to create a loop.
*You don't have to sew it on nicely (unless you really want to/you're a perfectionist), because it can't be seen from the outside.
If you're not sure how long you should sew the elastic on, just carefully measure the length by sewing one end of the elastic to the hat.
Then, measure the "wideness" of the loop by placing the hat on your dog's head.
And you'll get two loops at the bottom of the hat, like this:
And you're done! :)
Optional:
You can add another strip of elastic which would be worn under your pet's jaw, just like a helmet.
Cut an additional strip of elastic approximately about 1 centimeters.
I did a "fold and sew" method so that when it's done, it'll look nice. lol
And again, make sure you measure how big your pet's head is and mark the size, then sew.
If you don't, it won't fit and probably will fall off or be too tight for your pup.
The end result:
TADAAA! ;) And you're done (again!)
Rascal with his new hat!
Disclaimer:
1. I am aware that putting clothes or hats on dogs are considered animal abuse. But personally, I think that if your pup is comfortable with it, it's okay.
2. This is meant to be a handmade project and for fun. It's not meant to be perfect or anything.
Happy holidays!
I bought the tiny Christmas hat from
