HELLO SOPHOMORE YEAR

As much as I hate it and want to immortalize it, the holiday between my last semester of my foundation and my first year of degree has come to a close last week; certainly justifying the famous phrase "all good things come to an end". I've only been to the first week of classes and all my mind could fathom is the dreadful homework / assignments / projects / presentations (ultimate dread) / whatnots. The reason I cross out projects is because, well, I think projects  with or without a partner/group — are pretty fun. If you're a close friend/family, you'd know that I love to get my hands dirty. Practical things to me are so much fun to deal with, rather than theory... Boring ol' theory where you sit and understand your textbook or in my case, attempt and fail miserably and then end up memorizing it all. Ridiculous, really. Presentations though, is pretty practical actually. What I'm still working on is my fluency in speaking to a crowd of > 20 people. That's 20 pairs of eyes looking at your every move. Duh, I'm going to stutter. Hence, dreadful.

And it's not like I have to present my slides in French. That would be a good excuse to stutter. I have been speaking English more than any other language in the world. All I hear is English! (Minus the obvious fact that it's the most fluent language my brain can compute.) I may or may not have been diagnosed with stutter issues; I wouldn't know because I never really go to the doctors/speech therapist for such. I'm not sure in severe cases, but for me, the words are sentenced perfectly in my brain  stitched together with my voice and facial expressions  and when it's time to say those magic words, somehow it seems like some letters are stuck somewhere in my veins causing me to stop talking and stare blankly at the person whom I'm talking to. I mean, it's not like I can't string together a sentence. I can or could talk normally, but my stuttering is like  a more-than-a-once-in-a-blue-moon-but-less-than-sometimes thing. Somewhere between those lines.

Other updates, Grace has finally flown off to the U.S. for her accounting degree  possibly finishing her Masters there too  at Buffalo, NY., which is a 20 minutes drive to Niagara Falls BTW. I'm so jelly thinking about it. Plus, her flooding me with pictures of her picnic/hangs in Niagara Falls (which has become a norm for her recently) isn't really helping. I don't blame her though, I would have done the same. I sent a request asking her to get me those overrated I❤NY t-shirt and she sent them through mail, along with a postcard!; her parents being the mailman because she sent those all together at once. The t-shirt is fairly humongous for my tiny frame but meh, who cares? It's a freaking  I❤NY t-shirt. Grace sent a separate letter addressed to me, so this one was sent by the official mailman. Hahahaha. The very first thing that got me intrigued was the metal fastener the envelope had... But my excitement wore down when my sister said that Malaysia had those too. Oh.

Recently, I decided to brush up on my piano skills. I learned a few songs and thought I was pretty amazing... And then I kept playing each song over and over and over again to learn that it was actually easy and I wasn't amazing afterall. Damn.

1. "Wonderwall" by Oasis
2. "Fix You" by Coldplay
3. "We Are Young" by Fun.
4. "To Make You Feel My Love" by Adele (originally by Bob Dylan)  I'm exceptionally proud of myself for this one.
5. I can't remember?

So hopeless.
Though, I'm slightly proud that I could sing along while doing those fancy extra notes stuff. What's it called?

Thank you for reading all my crap. Here you go, an awkward bathroom, no filter/edit photo of me.

x

PS: I have a full-on rant about my college's registry office. I can't wait to make a post on it.
