IT'S THIS YEAR, GUYS.
The year we all (1993 babies specifically speaking) turn twenty and ditch the -teen word extension. :ohgodwhy: This February 11th was Sean's 20th and I have to admit that I didn't wish him on his birthday. Not that I forgot, but I didn't know.
What a friend, I know. Anyway, my friends decided to buy a t-shirt for him
— Also, I heard that they're (or we're) planning on recording a video. I'm not sure what video though lol?
— and I didn't want to chip in and share because everyone was doing so. I felt like that was a bit sad for us ton of people sharing just one t-shirt. So, I decided I should give a present my own... the least I could do since I do not recall his birthday at all.
After much brainstorming, I decided to create a card. Though I can't take credit on this one. I was once again inspired by
Charlavail's Hensel + Gretel paper art.
Also, craft therapy was much needed because today is Paramore's concert for the second time here and I lost track of time, and wasn't able to go for the show. I know, just kill me.
Here are the pictures.
This was the outline I drew / plan out before I started cutting the colored papers. The black base was a leftvoer of my
Art Journal cover and the rest of the colored paper was years and years of saving up unused pieces. Good thing then lol. (
+) I added a cuppa coffee on 'his' right hand at the last minute; I finally remembered what was his most fav. thing in the world (as you can see the draft below, I did not draw coffee at all). Hahaha

SO JOE BROOKS WAS AT MY COLLEGE TODAY FOR A BRIEF MEET & GREET
I literally couldn't sleep the night before. I'm not a major fan or anything like that, but I just knew his songs and I've seen some of his acoustic sets in Korea -- he has such an amazing voice. But just my luck I got a 3 hour tutorial right before the meet & greet session's going to start. And as predicted, the place was filled with everyone when I came right from class. It's good to have a lot of connections in college (or life, for a matter of fact) and this applies where I found my friend, Joshua, up front and I went over and stood there with him. Hahaha. Right before Joe came on stage, I could see his and Matt (drummer)'s light brown hair passing through the windows and turns out I was the only one who saw that... making me the only one who screamed "Omg, I saw him! I saw Joe!" When Joe got up on stage, Josh apparently spoke a little louder than everyone calling Joe to sign his CD so I held out my hand and let him sign it too, ha.

I also got on stage for a contest before he arrived, so that I could win tickets for his concert this Saturday. Sadly, I didn't win it. :( But dude, gotta give some credit to me.
I had to sing. Plus, I was the only one on stage who actually knew the lyrics to the chorus of "Holes Inside". So technically, I should have won. But meh... Signature's good enough. :D
Catch Joe Brooks Live In Malaysia
Venue: KL Live
Date: 3rd March 2012
Time: 7PM
Joe is also coming for a press conference and another exclusive meet & greet on Friday :)
I've been going to loads of concert in the last 3 years, that my parents are restricting me to go anymore. Hahahaha
But I heard We The Kings' are coming to Malaysia. ;) We shall see how that goes.
List of concerts I've been to (2009 - Present):
1. MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia 2010
2. Boys Like Girls Nokia Launch
3. Tokio Hotel
4. Paramore
5. Rockaway (All Time Low, Story Of The Year)
6. Simple Plan Get Your Heart On! Tour
7. Avril Lavigne The Black Star Tour (Last stop of the Black Star tour!)
What's your long list of concerts?
[EDIT:]
I didn't have any exclusive passes for Friday or been asked to help out for the press conference, but my friend Jaynelle did! She was super nice to get my posters and CD sleeve signed by Joe. And I didn't even asked for Matt or Clinton's signatures and she got them for me on the poster! Thank you loaaads.
On the poster, (L-R) Matt, Joe, Clinton
Okay so obviously I'm hanging the signed poster up along with my Simple Plan (or Avril Lavigne? Can't decide yet) poster in my huge ass Ikea frame I got 2 years ago. Yes, I hadn't done anything to it. The main reason I got it is because I got a Paramore poster -- Yes, you may imagine me jumping around with joy like a monkey. We had a little "spring cleaning" done, and somehow I misplaced my poster. Tragic, I know. I kinda thought my mom threw it in the trash. I checked the trash 5 times. There were only shredded pieces of paper. And my mom didn't even tear anything. It must be somewhere around here... though I looked for it at every corner, cobweb, cupboards, closets -- basically, everywhere!
I miss it.

MALAYSIA'S BIGGEST ROCK FESTIVAL, ROCKAWAY FESTIVAL 2011 BABY!
The line up was Hujan, Tres Empre, Dichi Michi, Busco, Oh Chentaku, Kyoto Protocol, They Will Kill Us All, Jason Lo, Deja Voodoo Spells, Monoloque, Love Me Butch, Twilight Actiongirl (DJ Set),
Story of the Year,
All Time Low, Pop Shuvit feat. Project E.A.R., Metalasia, Massacre Conspiracy, One Buck Short and
The Used.
Michelle and I went to the event at 11-ish and got our wristband and ran straight in! :D
Because we were kinda scared to be at the back when All Time Low was coming on but when we got to the front, there were like around 20 - 30 people? And they're not even rushing to the front. Hahaha
So we turned back and got to the merch store (or you could say tent lol) and bought us some All Time Low shirt. Though we were kinda short on cash (we brought along $300).
Each All Time Low shirt (There were only two designs) costs $90. We bought both designs. :) We really wanted a Rockaway shirt too but we decided if there was still left after the event was over, we'd buy it.
So then Hujan and Tres Empre played:

And then it rained. So a few of us smartasses went inside the air-conditioned tent (which is 18 yrs and above only, because they were dealing ciggs inside) where there's games and ... yeah, games. But some of them didn't wanna lose their front spot so they stood there, in the rain. The rest of the crowd however ran straight back to the exit and got sandwiched by everyone who squeeze in under those 3 tents. lol hilarious.
Me showing off my All Time Low shirt ;)
Hitz.fm's Ryan Matjeraie and Jinn appeared on stage!
When the rain "subsided", all of us ran back to our spot and I didn't get my front spot anymore but all is well... ;) Because Ryan and Jinn wanted to know which side has the loudest cheer. And Ryan did this gesture with his hand saying "The ones on my left are on my team!" And the girl infront of me decided to move to her right, making a space for me to squeeze in to the front, and voila. ;D
Dichi Michi performing
Lead singer of Busco.
He threw his guitar pick at us and I caught it! ;)
And in the air-conditioned tent, we made friends with 4 people. lol
One of them were June and her brother!
This is a pic of Michelle and June:
The greatest drumroll in the world (According to Ryan and Jinn): The sound of the slap against Ryan's tummy.
5th act: Oh Chentaku
Ryan on stage again. But this time, as Captain Rockaway!
Next, Kyoto Protocol takes the stage!
They Will Kill Us All
Jason Lo! One of the best local artist on stage.
Captain Rockaway succeeded in crowd surfing.
Deja Voodoo Spells
Monoloque taking the stage
Love Me Butch lead singer
The crowd is now really full because STORY OF THE YEAR is coming up real soon! :D
Twilight Actiongirl (DJ Set)
Look who's chillin' at the international acts tent? RIAN DAWSON OF ALL TIME LOW that is!
The next act is
Story of the Year! ;)
The crowd really went wild for this one.
I got shoved to the fence which was right infront of me. And my boobs (lol) got pushed and shoved against it, and I can honestly say, I don't have the biggest size in that department and this shoving and pushing wasn't helping at all. Hahahaa.
And then Alex of All Time Low made an earlier appearance on stage as the guitarist!
After Story of the Year's one hour performance, it was break time! 30 minutes to get hydrated before All Time Low takes the stage!
The crew setting up for All Time Low's performance
Me and Ryan Matjeraie, a photo we took during break time. ;)
THEN IT WAS TIME FOR
ALL TIME LOW!
Alex explained that Zack Merrick (my favourite member of the band) can't make it to the show because he had to attend a friend's wedding :(
And due to technical difficulties, they can't perform lots of songs cutting down their stage time to 40/45 minutes instead of an hour. *sadface*
Anyhoo, here are some of the pictures:
Couldn't get much of Rian because he was at the back and it's dark!
Alex got down from stage!
Going really close to the crowd!; So close yet so far from me!
Alex got really close to my side of the crowd (above picture)! If he were to come to me probably 1 feet more, I'd be able to touch him but for now I'm forever haunt with this picture that he was so close yet so far! :(
The guitar pick that I caught!
And since we came here mainly to see All Time Low, we left and got to the back of the place. ;)
We got to cross over the fence in front of us to get out which I always secretly loved doing at every concert. And this time, some dude hoisted me up to get over the high fence yay.
Next act, Pop Shuvit feat. Project E.A.R:
I like this balloon. lol
This event was held from 12PM till 12PM, at the Carpark A, Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
