FIRST OF ALL
Merry Berry Christmas!

2014 has been the most eventful year thus far and we're 6 days away from the new year. I barely written a handful of posts so let's try to cap this one in before the clock ticks to 2015, shall we? So here's a short listed summary of 2014:

1. January
Sold my first graphite drawing (link)
2. February
Tried out Jazzercise
Got my first pair of Adidas
3. March
Purchased my first set of Charcoal pencils (Derwent)
4. May
Celebrated my 21st birthday; Had an awesome surprise visit from friends!
Joined Groupon Malaysia as an Intern
5. July
Family + relative trip to Kukup, Johor
6. August
Crossed the 2 year finish line of my Probation license
7. September
Experienced a color party at Groupon's Grayon 2014 (3rd Quarter party)
Given the privilege to lead a team to plan Groupon's 2nd Intern Night
8. October
Alice's wedding
First visit to Universal Studios Singapore
9. November
Got my braces taken off!
10. December
Planned fourth consecutive family Christmas Party
[EDIT:] Invested in Canon 1200D DSLR

April and June aren't listed, as you could probably notice (unless you learn from somewhere that there are only 10 months in a year); it is both filled with small gatherings and meet ups, and intern life specifically for the month of June. Nothing to spectacular that needs to be listed down.

I'm hoping to gain a similar, active schedule in the coming year. It's been such a great year as a whole and I would not trade it for anything. I remember moping about how I did not attend a gig this year and that it was going to ruin my 4 year streak lol. I guess not! A great year to me, now that I've experienced it, is one shared with friends and family. This 2015, I aim to be more productive in my side-project aka my passion in art. I aim to be happier; to see things at a lighter angle. I hope to be more patient in my own personal development and progress. To be more open to new things. To be brave and lead the path into 2015 with a headstrong attitude.

I will also be graduating next year. My last semester commences on Feb/March and I'll be done around May/June. I'm looking for a slot to start my travel / getaway / vacation before I start my 9-5. There are different options that I'm looking at right now in terms of where to travel and job opportunities, but I'm threading on (dangerous) water. Will I be granted my holiday or will I succumb to rotting at home, wasting the hours away because of the serious headlines going on and on about drug smugglers at the airports? Or am I good enough to apply for a job towards a career in the Arts industry, or am I stuck at a corporate wasteland?

There's so many things I'll be juggling in 2015 and I'm already starting to get the jitters. Fingers crossed that I'll make it out alive, figuratively. Goodbye, twenty fourteen!

I JUST FINISHED AN 11 THOUSAND WORD ASSIGNMENT

Which took me 3 whole weeks of blood, sweat and tears. I stayed up till 3 or 4AM in the morning on some days. It's such a heavy task - I hope in the future there won't be anything like it anymore! Except for thesis... Which is inevitably coming soon in my last year of Degree. Anyhoo, I'm just here to post some quick photo updates from my Instagram (Click pic to view original instagram post).

5.

[EDIT: 19th May]

6.

1 — Derwent Charcoal Pencils I bought for $26 at Art Friend @ Curve. 2 — Peige and I met up with Simon after probably > 6 months of not seeing each other! 3 — I took an old book that I got at a used-book "yard" sale in which I vowed to read but never did (It's been years) and tried the infamous BlackOut poem. Personally it's a great alternative to free writing. 4 — I turn 21! *cue confetti and fireworks* This was my birthday dinner with my College crazies. Birthday post on this coming soon! 5 — Mother's Day DIY Blackboard frame from my sister and I to our mama. [EDIT: 19th May] 6 — I finally purchased the motivational books for artists "Show Your Work" by Austin Kleon.

"Show Your Work" is simply a motivational book for artists to get them to show their work online to get their art out there. View some of my recent works (Though I still have some art that I don't post online lol) on my Instagram here.

LAST NIGHT I HAD DINNER WITH TWO OF MY BESTIES

It was one night of full-on stories and laughter and fun and jokes. I miss it already! Bubba Gump → Upstairs Café — to give Siow Teng her celebratory cake for scoring her finals!

↑ This picture was so damaged with yellow lighting that it was hard to edit it so I just got fed up and turn it into a black + white piece. lol
Check out our (random) instavideo at Siow Teng's instagram.

THIS IS WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR

Nope, not my two front teeth or you... (I'm lame, I know. Shoot me at will.)

#1 — From my parents:

+Christmas haul as an additional present too!

#2 — From Michelle

#3 — From Aunt Sally + my cousins

#4 — Christmas party gift exchange

#1 — Besides the Christmas haul, what they got me was what I told them that I needed to buy a new one; as for the mug, it was suppose to be given as a gift exchange for the Christmas party but I told my mom that the mug was nice... hence, my christmas present lol. #2 — The rudolf picture is exchangeable! *prints Paramore pictures* #3 — Wonka is something I wouldn't purchase because a small package costs around $10; And this is a large package. And I've always wanted to try that lip butter. Yay!

If you notice, I got three mugs and a tumbler... probably hinting that I need to drink more water?

I'll be finally getting down to saw/carve my "TW" initials from the wood I bought many many months ago. I must do this project before the year ends otherwise it would be another year that I could start on it... I'm lazy, there I said it.

EVENTHOUGH MY PARENTS GOT ME THREE GIFTS THIS YEAR

But we went shopping on Christmas day and decided that she'll buy the clothes I went to try out (and were so uberly happy about) as another Christmas present to me lol. Well, my parents don't give presents to my sister and I on Christmas in the previous years so I guess these presents were to pay up?

#1 — Dress (2 for $100)

#2 — T-shirts (3 for $50 + 2 for $39)

#3 — Red + yellow jeans (2 for $100)

I finally own red/yellow pants! I've been wanting these since I knew Paramore >5 years ago. It took the whole day for me to get all these and it's only 8 pieces! One of the shirts priced at 3 for $50 is for my sister and therefore not photographed here... We shared the sale. lol. Shirts are a must for me, you know, for classes. And yes, that is masking tape on those shirts  — I must say though, the shirt that says "It is always better with me and you" was forced because of the 2 for $39 price. Oh well.

I don't think Boxing Day is relevant in Malaysia so I'm sure the prices are the same on Christmas and post-Christmas; so, not much of a regret there. Especially when these amaaazing dresses and pants were price at $50 each. Oh, mother of all sales.

Grand total: $272

x

PS: Sorry for the shitty quality of most of the pictures. There weren't enough light to work with!

IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN

And I'm not talking about Christmas... Well, maybe. It's that time of the year where/when you suddenly realize, it has been a year, passed in a flash. "Well, that was fast!" 2013 and the grand annual countdown is slowly creeping near in 4 days, I've been thinking about life — how I've progressed, what I've overcomed (which isn't much, really. Or anything at all.) and all the sentimental shit. All flooding through my brain, right now at 1:30AM lol.

What did happened this year? Let's make the list:
1. Concerts: Simple Plan (Jan) + Avril Lavigne (Feb)
2. Graduated from my Foundation and started my Degree
3. Attempted to draw portraits of famous people
4. Got my driver's license
5. 4D3N holiday at Bangkok, Thailand
6. Grace went off to USA
7. Rascal had an inflamed nipple and a little rash
8. Sew little booties for Rascal
9. Read a few books: The Notebook / A Walk To Remember / The Rescue by N. Sparks + 50 Shades of Grey / - Darker / - Freed by E.L. James
10. Sang a little Joe Brooks in front of a crowd of students from my college for a contest
11. A good progress on my braces
12. RIP Grandma
13. Got to finally try Vitamin Water
14. Made new friends
15. Had a Christmas party (A separate post on that later!)
16. Discovered many, many amazing music

#1 — I honestly cannot remember much of Avril Lavigne... The show was too fast, just like 2012. #3 — My attempts of portrait drawing + coloring was a good one! #4 — Got my driver license at my first try, which is one of the things I won't be humble about lol. #5 — Holiday to Bangkok was memorable. #9 — Frankly, despite the "porn" and bad grammar, 50 Shades wasn't that bad. Though, more on that in a separate post.) #10 — I didn't win the ticket to Joe Brook's show in KL but it was a step in my self-confidence. #13 — I love Vitamin Water; Malaysia finally has it! #15 — Christmas Party was held 3 days ago on Christmas eve; it was mostly a blast!

I've been looking through tumblr and how people are living their lives in 2012 even at my age or a year younger/older. They practically are so carefree and are taking beautiful, beautiful photos all the time. I'm just so inspired by them but can't do shit about it because I have boundaries that I've not allowed to pass through. Parents, you know. But, I'm hoping to make more progress in achieving that lifestyle. Here's a list I wish to progress forward to:

1. Get a good camera + practice photography
2. A part-time job
3. More hang-outs / parties
4. Start an art journal DONE! Blog post here
5. More DIY craft / projects — magazine notebooks, homemade organizers, the perfect dreamcatcher
6. Be more open to try new things / be creative + to new situations
7. To play the hand that's dealt
8. Organize / plan all important things
9. Paramore in Feb
10. Attempt to gain more freedom
11. Get my own guitar
12. Try to get taller
13. Get active
14. Write letters + send postcards
15. ?

#5 — I've seen a couple of DIYs on the internet and I can't wait to start doing them! #9 — I KNOW. #12 — I remember bashing about people who bashed about me being short and it has been more than annoying can get! I can't change genetics but people are telling me to grow taller like it's something I could get done in a sec. But I guess, I would give it a try... #14 — I love writing letters + postcards!

There are a few things that I was suppose to get done by this year and have not done so yet. Well, we have 4 days to complete these:DONE! Blog post here

1. Projects: Wooden name initial
2. Clearing out my room (Part 2); Part 1 was done yesterday!

In other news, Grace and Emelia's birthday both fall in December. For Grace's, Siow Teng and I had a Oovoo (because Skype now charges us for multiple video chats, tsk.) video call with her for a few hours; despite the 12-hour timezone, we did it! For Emelia's, my college friends and I got her a few things altogether... though Max did most of it. Anyway, there's a birthday scrapbook thing and I had to send three of my pictures off to Max to be printed and included in. Here's one of it:

It was a last minute thing, for me at least. Max has been pestering me but I've been busy with assignments then, and the Christmas party thereafter. So I had to quickly draw the cake and decided that it'll look adorable if it's tilted to the side, ha! Well, Happy Birthday to both Grace + Emelia!

+Posts on Christmas Party, 50 Shades and my post-Christmas (or extra Christmas present from my parents) shopping haul up next!

x
